Massive Rally against Insultations Toward Islam

Fatwa Sentinal of The Indonesian Ulama Council (GNPF-MUI) in a press release announced that they are holding a concord rally defending Al-Quran on the 4th of November.
This rally is held to assert DKI Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) who has been indicted for insulting Al-Quran through his statement in Kepulauan Seribu last October. This rally also insists so that other insulters of Islam to be punished accordingly by the Indonesian authorities.
In the similar statement, GNPF-MUI also affirms that they, as a non-political movement and they have no intention to confront any parties. However, they only indicting a fair punishment towards these crime; insulting Al-Quran and Ulama.
“And we profess that this movement is not an anti-Christian, anti-Chinese, or anti-NKRI, nor anti- Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, but this is a faction that claims non-discriminatory juristical action towards the denigrator of Al-Quran and Ulama.”
Besides, GNPF-MUI also demands President Jokowi to be unbiased towards Ahok, and not trying to protect him that clearly has insulted Islam.
According to the press conference, GNPF-MUI informed that this rally will be held after the Friday prayer and the march will be started at Masjid Istiqlal heading to the National Fort.
GNPF-MUI also reminds all participants who attend the rally to not bring any sharp weapons and savage any public facilities. Instead, they are advised to take care of the cleanliness during the rally.
